Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country’s first ever ‘light and sound show’ at the Lalbagh Fort February 07 2014

Two open air light and sound shows of 30 minutes duration each will be presented in the gardens of the fort after sunset every day, except on Sundays when the site is closed to the public.

A total of 1,000 visitors (500 for each show) would be able to enjoy the show each day all year round, except during the rainy season.

Show tickets will cost only Tk20 each for local visitors, while tourists from SAARC and other countries will be charged Tk100 and Tk200 respectively.

The installations of the show cost Tk2.8 crore, under a project of the cultural ministry.

Lalbagh Fort (also known as Fort Aurangabad) is an incomplete 17th century Mughal fort complex in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Its construction was started in 1678 by Mughal Subedar (Viceroy) Prince Muhammad Azam Shah, son of Emperor Aurangzeb, who later became Emperor himself.

His successor, Shaista Khan did not continue the work, though Azam Shah stayed in Dhaka up to 1688.
